U. S. Passport Photos: How long will I wait to get the passport photos?
Most passport photos will be ready within 5 to 10 minutes, while you wait. Extra time will be needed for 1) infant/baby photo and 2) colored background (30 min to one hour). You can preview and approve your picture before we print it. We’ll re-shoot it until you’re pleased once printed it’s yours.
U. S. Passport Photos: Do you process the passport application as well?
No, Only the government does that, we only provide you the photos that are specifically sized etc. for the passport application.
United States of America Passport Photo Specs
All photos will be taken according to the US Government guide line and must pass all seven check list described in the Government book. To obtain a U. S. Passport, you need two U. S. Passport Photos of 2 x 2 inch size. Make sure that these photos satisfy the Government specs, otherwise they will be rejected and sent back to you. Please note, after 9-11, all official passport/ ID photos are subject to strict rules. All-ways check your spec sheet again before submitting, which will save your time and money.
US Passport Photo check list:
- 1) right size of the photo – 2 x 2 inches
- 2) right size of your head – 1 to 1 3/8 from top of hair to chin
- 3) background OK? – white background(not blue, no gray)
- 4) no shadow – shadow is a big thing for US immigration office. we’ve seen many photos rejected because of the shadow.
- 5) Not too light, too dark.
- 6) your eyes are clearly visible – eye level must be between 1 1/8 to 1 3/4 from bottom of photo.
- 7) don’t smile (at least not too much ) – US government says “Encourage subject to have a natural expression”.
