We do both low and high production editorial shoots and our editorial subjects range from gaming and financial moguls to notables from all aspects of society. Trade Publication Portraits and Editorial Plus Advertising Photography
Balancing technical fluency and poetry in making images for corporate and consumer magazines, Michael uses his technical, social and artistic skills to create portraits authentic moments and a clean airy iconic style.
Location portraits take between one and three hours typically and when necessary he will proceed with a minimum set-up time to create compelling editorial images on a deadline and on a budget for all his clients. Most portrait assignments require an assistant but narrative (story-telling) assignments don’t usually require an assistant and Michael can work alone for multiple days.
We are often available for last minute assignments for clients and in extreme cases, can deliver digital images on the same day.
Editorial Workflow of our Editorial Plus Advertising Photography
When we receive a signed work agreement, we will follow up with the subject, discuss clothing and logistics for the portrait. Michael usually works with at least one assistant; unless the assignment is purely photojournalistic and takes up to two hours to scout and prep the set. The duration of the shoot varies for each assignment and depends on the requirements. Once set up, most sessions take between 30 minutes and one hour. After the images have been edited and uploaded to a gallery for review, we can deliver within 24 hours. Final delivery is usually via FTP.
We shoot with Canons, and our lighting scenarios typically involve a softbox, Octobank, beauty dish and or silks depending on the client’s needs. Assignments are typically scouted, and Michael comes prepared for everything. Often there are rentals involved, if the budget allows, and Michael always brings and assistant if there is any lighting used.
Editorial Coverage Areas
For editorial photography assignments in the Boca Raton area, we usually shoot and post within 24 hours and for travel assignments we usually post images for review within 48 hours after our return.
Michael covers all of South Florida including, Miami,Ft. Lauderdale, Pompano, Boca Raton, Delray, Boynton Beach, West Palm Beach, Palm Beach Gardens, Jupiter and everything in between.
His fees are competitive with colleagues of equal merit.
